Young Horse Development Program and Sales
FEI Level Dressage Training is provided by Jontelle Forbus. Instruction, Training, Sales and Competition Campaign is available. Jontelle is an advocate for the horse. She truly wants each horse to reach its full potential with willingness and cooperation. Jontelle's methodology assures that horses must be communicated within a way that encourages and rewards experimentation. She adheres to the principles of traditional dressage training with a strong emphasis on correct and solid basics. Jontelle encourages the horse to distribute weight evenly and thoroughly to develop an understanding to work from back to front through their entire body. These basics, in addition to clear communication with the horse, produce a meaningful relationship-from which training can truly develop.
The idyllic landscape and organic, nutritional content of Lexington, Kentucky’s soil, coupled with the combined experience of owners; Shirley McQuillan and Jontelle Forbus, make Touchstone Farm a perfect location to raise young, Warmblood horses. Owners of weanlings thru three-year olds, are offered a safe, group living environment for their babies. Expert handling and professional management accompanies the services with the intention of raising future sport horses; for competition, or sale.
Together, with nearly a century of combined experience, Jontelle Forbus and Shirley McQuillan, offer a rare opportunity to clientele. Shirley McQuillan’s keen eye for biomechanics and exceptional Chiropractic talent, aids in proper alignment for the growing horse. Jontelle Forbus’ management and handling imparts valuable life skills into the young horse.
Growing youngsters are brought into the barn and handled on a regular schedule, to ensure proper halter breaking, grooming, farrier and veterinary care. Additional lessons include trailer loading and bathing. Regular monthly weighing thru our nutrition consultants, ensures owners that proper, steady development is being thoughtfully managed.

The Bluegrass region surrounding Lexington, Kentucky possess a rare soil composition containing a limestone layer up to 320 feet thick. Lush grass, together with shade from the trees prove a winning combination for raising horses. The calcium-rich grass and undulating hills enables horses to build strong leg bones.

CEM Mare Quarantine
Equine Associates work closely with import agents to provide a safe, healthy landing place for your mare for completion of CEM procedures. Large, airy stalls bedded with chopped straw, and high quality, continuous hay, await your equine partner. Professional staff adhere to quarantine procedures, in addition to making certain mares are safely exercised-handwalked, lunged, grazed-all for the sake of appropriately acclimating the horse.
